  • Goya headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey is equipped with the following environmentally friendly features:
    • Building Management System – BMS – This allows Goya to program and control indoor climate remotely and systematically, which utilizes less energy, is good for the environment and saves money
    • Skylights throughout the building provide natural lighting, which increases employee productivity, energy and morale.
    • Waterless urinals have been installed in all bathrooms which reduces our consumption of water

Goya’s CA facilities
  • As of the end of 2017 Goya’s facilities in Jersey City, NJ, Secaucus, NJ, Pedricktown, NJ, and City of Industry, CA generate 9.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity (kWh) annually. Continuing with Goya’s sustainability initiatives, the Company expects to start the construction of a solar system at its Great Lake’s distribution center. The system will generate over 1.6 million kWh annually.
  • In addition to the implementation of renewable energy, Goya continues to improve the energy efficiency of its operations. Reducing the energy demand in our operations is a cost-effective way to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse emissions. Goya incorporates efficiency into new buildings and as our existing buildings age, we replace or upgrade older equipment with the latest in high-efficiency technology.
  • Total amount of energy generated is enough to provide electricity to 1,265 homes in a year.
  • Total amount of carbon dioxide avoided is equal to removing 1,806 passenger vehicles from the roads or 20,670,097 miles driven by passenger vehicles in a year.
  • Total amount of carbon dioxide avoided is the equivalent of 948,959 gallons of gasoline consumed in a year.
  • It takes 218,561 trees or 9,933 acres of forest to reduce the carbon dioxide avoided. This is accomplished while only utilizing approximately 18 acres of warehouse roof space.
  • The strategic location of Goya headquarters in Jersey City helps to cut transportation and distribution costs and provides consumers with the best value of Goya products in the tri-state area.
    • All ceilings in the warehouses of Goya facilities have been painted white to provide brightness and to lower the amount of artificial light needed in the building
  • Goya New Jersey and Texas will be installing rail service behind its facilities to significantly reduce transportation costs, traffic congestion and fuel consumption.
  • Goya Texas is an environmentally sustainable center equipped with an advanced water treatment plant that recycles and purifies water used for the soaking and transporting of beans and other products, crop irrigation and replenishment of local streams.
    • Goya Texas installed over-sized fans throughout the warehouse to reduce ambient temperature by 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Goya California is equipped with 3,402 rooftop solar panels; realizing a net zero carbon footprint. The solar-powered energy system makes the distribution center carbon neutral and generates exactly the amount of energy the facility consumes.
    • Goya Chicago is also equipped with skylights throughout the building providing natural lighting, which increases employee productivity, energy and morale. The lighting system throughout the office and warehouse uses energy efficient bulbs and are on motion sensors that turn on if there is activity/movement, otherwise, they automatically turn off if there is no activity. This helps save on energy usage. The facility will be installing solar panels as well.

Goya Florida

  • Goya Florida is equipped with the following eco-friendly features:
    • All office lights are on motion sensors that only turn on if there is activity/movement, otherwise, they automatically turn off if there is no activity. This helps save on energy usage.
